The peace symbol is a symbol that has continued to change meaning and be applied to many different issues. Not only in America, but throughout the world. Above the peace sign with the rainbow shows how the LGBT community has used the symbol to encourage acceptance and understanding towards the community. The following symbol, the two fingers, also carries the same meaning and often the person displaying the sign is also seeking national, global, or a more individual form of unity.I've noticed a lot of younger generations find it cool to display peace signs in there photos and as greetings:
